Experience Seaplane Views over Turquoise Waters
Your experience with Fushifaru starts right when you arrive at the Male Airport, as the resort concierge will greet and escort you to the sea plane terminal. Fushifaru has a lounge in the seaplane terminal which allows their guests to sit and relax before the flight- we found this the perfect time to enjoy our morning coffee and croissants. After 30 minutes, the attendant came to get us and help us on the plane that would take us to paradise.
This was the first seaplane we have ever been on and we loved the experience. There’s nothing quite like taking off and landing on water, and the views from the window of the aqua blue waters below were insane.
Luxe Maldivian Hospitality
When we arrived on the island of Fushifaru, we were greeted by the whole team. There were musicians beating drums and using traditional Maldivian seashells to create a lovely welcome rhythm. We felt like we were celebrities getting such a big welcome!

The Fushifaru island is a true Robinson Crusoe experience. It is covered in palm trees with white sand beaches encircling the whole island. The lagoon is the prettiest we have ever seen- the water is so blue that you have to do a double take! The island is small enough where you can easily walk around in 15 minutes, so there are no bikes or golf carts available to guests. We found that we had no problems walking around the island as everything was just a short distance away.
Fushifaru is 100% Maldivian owned. All around the resort you’ll find traditional Maldivian touches, including the setup of a traditional Maldivian fishing hut. Guests are welcome to come inside, take photos, and learn more about this beautiful culture.

We stayed in a beach front villa that was decorated true to the Maldivian style that Fushifaru is known for. We loved how spacious the room and outdoor bathroom was- we loved taking bubble baths underneath the stars. Being right on the beach front, we were seconds away from being able to dive in the ocean right from our room every morning and were able to watch the sunset from our front patio. Fushifaru also offers beach front pool villas in edition to overwater bungalows.
There are 2 restaurants on site: Korakali and Raakani Grill. Korakali is where you’ll be eating breakfast and dinner, while Raakani Grill offers fresh seafood and lunch selections. We are both big foodies and while we did enjoy the food for the 3 nights we were there, we definitely would have found it lacking if we styed the whole week. But that is just our opinion- we are so into food that every week we drive to our favourite sushi restaurant in Bali that is an hour away. We did love their breakfast spreads and the impressive wine selection.

Super Instagrammable Resort- Take the Best Photos Here!
Everything about Fushifaru is super Instagrammable, with many spots set up to get the perfect photo opportunity. You’ll find beach swings, hammocks, and discarded motorbikes revarnished and placed around on the beach in a very aesthetically pleasing fashion.
The highlight of the resort is the infinity pool, which stretches out all the way to the ocean. As huge fans of infinity pools, we were soooo impressed by this one. It also faces the sunset, so here you’ll find the most epic reflections of the sun meeting the pool.

They also own a private sandbank a short 5-minute boat ride away from the island that guests can visit. There is literally nothing set up on this sand bank except for a shaded area so you’ll really get the full ‘paradise sandbar’ experience. They also have a hammock set up at the end to get that perfect Insta-worthy shot.
Fushifaru can also set up a lunch picnic on the sandbank, complete with colorful pillows and blankets you can sit on. We were so impressed with all of the extra experiences you can arrange during your stay that would surely make this your most memorable vacation.

If you’re looking for a memorable night on the sandbank- Fushifaru can arrange that for you too. They can arrange a beautiful bedroom setup that looks just like their hotel rooms- but out on the sandbank! This arrangement also comes with a seating area, with a sofa setup and poof’s surrounded by rugs. There was also shisha if you prefer to sit back and relax. This was definitely one of our most memorable nights in the Maldives, and we spent the evening lounging around, drinking fresh juice and watching the sunset.
Amazing Value at This Stunning 5 Star Resort
There are multiple packages that you can chose to indulge in when you’re booking your vacation at Fushifaru. While the bed and breakfast is the most basic, if you book through Fushifaru’s website , you will automatically get upgraded to a half board package, which covers breakfast and dinner. We experienced the full board package, with includes lunch and an alcoholic drink per meal, in addition to breakfast and dinner. They all offer an all-inclusive premium package, which includes extra drink and spa options as well.
We had an amazing time staying at the Fushifaru Maldives. It was truly a paradise, and we couldn’t get over how photogenic every single corner of this island was. Their focus on Maldivian heritage combined with the luxury of a 5 star resort really made this a beautiful stay. It is hard to imagine you can get this experience for such an affordable price. We can’t wait to go back!
