On our recent trip to Europe, we had the pleasure of flying economy on LOT Polish Airlines on their new route from Singapore to Warsaw. Over the past 2 years, the airline has significantly expanded their routes and flight operations worldwide, connecting passengers to more than 110 destinations.  As Claudia is Polish Canadian, she grew up taking LOT Airlines to visit family in Poland and was eager to fly with them again.

The LOT Polish Airplane: Fly on the Newest- and Comfiest- 787 Dreamliner

There are 4 flights a week between Singapore and Warsaw which depart close to midnight. This was ideal for us, as we had a full day to enjoy Singapore before heading to the airport later on in the evening. Singapore’s Changi Airport is an attraction in of itself so make sure you arrive early to give yourself some time to explore all the beautiful features and numerous activities offered throughout the airport.

Once we were all Changi-ed out, we made our way over to our gate in time to board our flight. The plane that serves the Singapore to Warsaw route is one of Boeing's latest models, the 787 Dreamliner which features high ceilings and soft lighting. LOT Polish Airlines’ signature blue and white accents on the plane reminded us of soft white clouds against the blue sky, truly an unforgettable experience. The economy seat configuration was 3-3-3, and the seats were slim with a comfortable headrest. This meant that we had more leg room which Kaan was ecstatic about given that it was a long-haul overnight flight.

In addition to a spiffy and elegant interior, we found that LOT Polish Airlines had the newest airplane entertainment technology. Each seat featured a USB port, entertainment system, and power outlets. We found there was a good selection of movies in English, Polish, and Chinese, in addition to video games (with many classics such as PacMan), which we spent hours playing trying to beat each other’s high scores.

Arrive Well-Rested and Ready to Take on the Day

The takeoff was really smooth, and about an hour into the flight we were served a tasty dinner which included chicken, rice, and veggies, with pudding for dessert. All meals came with the choice of a non-alcoholic drink as well as a selection of wine and beer. We had a few glasses of their delicious house wine that paired nicely with our dinner. After dinner the cabin was prepared for bed-time and the crew tucked us in with a comfy blanket and soft pillow. We normally aren't able to sleep well on flights but this time was definitely an exception! After a solid 8 hour sleep it was time for Breakfast which featured a delicious traditional Polish ‘nalesnik’- a type of sweet crepe served with fruits, fresh tea, and coffee. Not long after it was almost time to land in Warsaw! We arrived just after 7am, well rested after our 12 hour flight, refreshed and ready to take on our day exploring Poland.

So there you have it! If you are looking for the fastest way to get to Europe from Asia, be sure to check out LOT Polish Airlines!
