The Best Hotels In Tulum

alaya tulum hotel coverJPG.jpg

Tulum has become such a hotspot to travel to in recent years- all thanks to Instagram, Pinterest and Tiktok. All of the hotels and airbnbs are built to be incredibly aesthetically pleasing, and you’ll be spoilt with choice on where to stay.

Tulum is split into two parts- the Pueblo (downtown) and the Hotel Zone, which is located on the beachfront. The prices vary differently depending on where you stay and where you eat.

That’s the best thing about a Tulum vacation- you can make it as expensive or cheap as you want it. It is possible to stay in $30/per night Airbnbs and eat local (and delicious) street tacos, or you can stay in beachfront suites for $1000+ and dine at the many fancy restaurants on the strip. Or, you can switch it up.

The first 15 metres of beachfront is public in Tulum, so even if you stay in town but spend your days laying on the beach or at beach clubs, you can do that. While we definitely recommend spending a couple of nights in the hotel zone (especially since taxis between town and beach are $$$), you will also find very cute hotels and airbnbs in town. Just depends on your budget and vibe. Keep in mind that the hotel zone can get very expensive, and most hotel rooms are between $300-$600 a night. Super worth it though, especially after having to deal with all of 2020.

There are no all-inclusive hotels in Tulum, and no international chains. That’s what makes Tulum unique- the boutique hotels and the unique accommodation experiences they offer. The only other place we can think of that is on par with hotel design is Bali.

Obviously, we couldn’t get enough of our stay in Tulum and ended up pushing our flight back 4 times!! We can’t wait for you guys to go and experience it :)
