WINTER SKINCARE ROUTINE

I don’t know about you but winter is ROUGH on my skin. After spending half of my adult life abroad during the winter seasons, I completely forgot what it is to deal with the harsh Toronto winters and central heating.

No one wants dry, crusty skin. Literally no one. Luckily, I’ve adapted quickly and upped my skincare routine to help my face lock-in that moisture it desperately needs.

Here are the products I’ve been using as my go-to’s for my fight against winter dehydration. Some of these are well-known drug-store products, while others are natural or medical-grade skincare. They’ve been game-changers for me and my face feels nice and moisturized despite the -15 wind chill outside.

Laneige Lip Mask- I am obsessed with this lip mask! It keeps my lips super moisturized overnight and I wake up with the softest lips ever. I’ve been the same jar for over 7 months and it hasn’t run out yet! Definitely worth the $13.

Skinceuticals C E Ferulic- By now you’ve probably heard the hype around Skinceuticals- and their hefty price tags! This company produces medical-grade skincare products, which means that there is a higher concentration of active ingredients in these products than in traditional over-the-counter lines you may find in places like Sephora. They’ve also been thoroughly tested, and are usually sold by physicians. So yes, while they are more expensive, they are way more likely to be effective. It also means with such a high concentration of ingredients, you require less of the product. I have been using the C E Ferulic serum for the past 7 months (and haven’t finished the bottle yet), and I am seeing huge results! For me, this investment is worth it as I am buying less of other skincare and makeup products and sticking to things that are actually making a difference for me. Use THELOSTTWO for a ‘tax-free’ discount.

Skinceuticals HA Intensifier- This is called ‘Botox in a bottle’ for a reason. The serum amplifies your skin’s HA levels, plumping your face up (in a good way) and reducing fine lines and wrinkles. Yes, I know every company claims to reduce fine lines and wrinkles- but this stuff actually makes a difference. Use THELOSTTWO for a ‘tax-free’ discount.

Skinceuticals Eye Gel- I use this every night to help with those eye wrinkles. Use THELOSTTWO for a ‘tax-free’ discount.

Evolved Naturals Rosehip Serum- This serum is jam-packed with antioxidants and vitamins that will moisturize your skin overnight. I use this every evening as the last step in my routine. It’s definitely been the savior my face needed this winter.

Evolved Naturals Rose Water- Love how you can mist your face with this toner. Smells sooo good too!

Evolved Naturals Coffee Cream- I use this every morning for my annoying eye bags.

Cetaphil Gentle Foam Cleanser- I found this cleanser to be simple yet effective. I apply it on my face, then use my foreo to do a thorough clean. Also for $12, it lasts me 4-5 months which is a steal!!

Cerave PM Lotion- I know it says PM, but I use this lotion throughout the day if I’ve been sitting indoors all day. The best part? It’s only $12!!

Jade Roller- I use this jade roller every morning. It honestly feels like you’re getting a face massage with your morning cup of coffee!

Dermaroller- This at-home treatment is a great way to improve the surface of skin, including fine lines and acne scars. I wouldn’t trust a different company for derma rollers- this is the original brand and their products are all medical grade.
